Mei and her twin sister, An, stood near the pond, slowly inching their way toward Jiang and his teammates.

"I like his ass. Look at his ass," Mei giggled.

"I love his big brown eyes, his warm smile, his-"

"I love the whole package; he stands out from the other boys, don't you think?"

"Yes, and I love to see him climbing out of the pool, the water running off his smooth legs, his bathing suit clinging to his hips, his thighs thrusting against the side of the swimming pool. I'd do anything to be with him-to have him."

"His arms are so strong. He brushes up against me every time he walks by driving me insane with lust."

"I love to watch him strutting up and down, swinging his arms back and forth."

"Last week, he squeezed by me at school and felt his hot hips brushing against mine."

"I'd like to hold him in my arms, smothering him with my kisses and play with him all night long."

"Do you want to jamb your tongue into his mouth, as well?"

"If I could," Mei giggled.

"Can you imagine what it would be like to feel those hard muscles, to run your hands up and down his arms, to rub his chest?"

"I dreamt about touching Jiang's legs last night. They were as strong as at the trees in the forest. I woke up wet and clammy. I want him. I want that boy!"

"I bet his whole body's like that, rock hard thighs, strong calves, muscular shoulders. He's so sexy, so strong, so handsome."

"I bet he's stronger than Wong's bull; he'll make a great breeder."

"He's a hell of a lot more than a great breeder; he's a lover, too. Look at his lips, his eyes. I'd do anything if he'd just look at me-if he'd just pay attention to me even for a moment."

"I'd marry him and bear his ch-"

"Jiang never pays attention to you, how are you going to get his attention? He spends all his time with the boys; I've never seen him spend more than a moment with a girl."

"He'd spend time with me if he didn't have to swim all day. Besides, he doesn't like spending time with those stupid boys; he just puts up with them. He really wants to be with a girl like me. He really does! Coach Luo controls him, I bet the coach could set me up with Jiang. You do realize, sister, that coach wants to have a winning team and he can only achieve that with Jiang because he's a winner."

"I bet he's a winner in more ways than one."

"Don't move, Mei, don't move! Jiang's looking this way. He's got his eyes on you. I can tell."

Eight meters away, Jiang climbed out of the pond and scanned the crowd. Feng Xiao was sitting beyond the twins and Jiang glanced past them, admiring Xiao's body, scanning him from head to toe, wishing he were closer, wishing he could sweep Xiao into his arms and kiss him all over. Damn, those girls are looking at me again. I hope they don't think I'm interested. Jiang's cock shriveled inside his underwear which all the boys wore since bathing suit cost money that no one had. Damn it, why can't they leave me alone?

"See, I told you Jiang wasn't that big-his package is flatter than your breasts," An tittered.

"Don't be vicious. Women are much more than breasts besides I'll make a great mother. I want nine children and Jiang can fuck, don't worry about that." Mei watched her sister blush; it was the first time she ever used the word and she liked the reaction it caused her twin. Mei's palms began to sweat and her armpits dripped, "I know Jiang loves me; I know he wants to be my husband."

"Aren't you jumping to a lot of conclusions? You haven't even gone out with that boy yet. Perhaps Jiang has another girlfriend; perhaps he's keeping a woman somewhere. You know he's always disappearing-"

"I'll whip anyone who tries to take Jiang away from me. I'll kick her senseless."

Xiao strolled by the twins. Perhaps if I don't look at them, they won't bother me, Xiao thought. He didn't like either of them, he never had; they were evil and hateful, and he tried desperately to avoid them because the twins weren't only the school bullies, they were the village gossips, as well. I don't think I've heard either one of them say anything nice about anybody in school . . . except Jiang. I wonder if they really know about him like I-.

"Hey, little boy, whatcha up to? Does your mommy know you're playing outside all by yourself?"

Xiao froze. This was the worst thing that had happened to him in months. He was sure everyone at the pond could hear Mei's catty voice and Xiao almost wished he could be as viscious, but, instead, he blushed and the red blob oozed down his face to his toes.

From the distance, Jiang saw Xiao walking past the girls. He saw him stop and wondered what the girls were up to. I hate those bitches. Why can't they pick on someone their own size? Why do they have to pick on Xiao? One of these days, I'm going to flatten both of them.

Coach Luo touched Jiang on the shoulder. "You have one more race, Jiang, try to focus on the race and leave the girls alone. You'll have plenty of time for sex when you reach my age." Luo laughed as Jiang's knees sank from under him.

If the coach only knew, Jiang thought, if the coach only knew. "Yes, Coach, but you know how things are. When you see so many cute girls and they're all after you . . . it's hard."

The coach's eyes slid down Jiang's tight firm body, "I don't think you're hard at all, Jiang. Sometimes I wonder about you. Were you looking at the girls or-?" Coach Luo glanced over at Xiao's firm young ass, "Come to think of it, I've never seen you with a girl. I used to think you were slow, now I'm beginning to worry." Again, coach Luo glanced over at Xiao and he did it so obviously that Jiang knew exactly what he was thinking. "It's about time you take interest in girls, Jiang. You're thirteen, you're a man, act like one. I have a place I'm going to visit tonight. Perhaps you'd like to accompany me?"

"I have something to do tonight, coach, but I-"

"Don't put it off too long. I've heard some of the boys talking about you and now . . . well, just be careful, boy . . . and if you have any secrets, keep them to yourself. These are very dangerous times."

Coach Luo blew his whistle, and the other boys mounted the edge of the pond ready for the day's final event; they were going to swim the butterfly stroke, and Jiang was the best in the province in the fly.

"I have to go now. I'll remember what you said and I'd like to go with you . . .on a prowl . . . but I have things to tonight, okay?" Jiang didn't wait for an answer; he raced off to the other boys. As the coach blew his whistle, Jiang dove, sprinting ahead of his teammates, Wang, Hon-Kee and Lin-Chu.

"Look how quickly Jiang moves through the water. He's faster than the flying fishes," Mei screamed, as she tugged her sister's arm.

Jiang's the fastest man in the world, Xiao thought. And someday, he'll be mine.

"Watch him, look at him make the turn. He's going to be mine. All mine!"

"Move!" Mei said as she shoved Xiao out of her way. "Is your head is made of glass?"

"No one could make glass that thick," An giggled, "It would have to weigh a ton to fit inside Xiao's big fat head."

"Big head, big head," the twins giggled as Xiao cried softly, wishing he was in Australia, hiding like an ostrich, with his big head hiding beneath the melons.

Jiang was ahead of his closest competitor, Hon-kee, by nearly a meter and Hon-kee was beyond the ability to keep up. Hon-kee never wins, Jiang thought. If he doesn't win soon, he'll never have any confidence at all and coach will cut him. Jiang slowed his pace, pretending to look at Mei while surreptitiously keeping his attention on Hon-kee, allowing him to get closer.

"Go, Jiang," Mei and An screamed simultaneously as Mei accidentally slapped Xiao across the back of his head-twice. "I told you to get out of the way, you stupid duck. Move!"

Xiao hurried away, closer to the water, closer to the boy he loved-closer to Jiang.

Hon-kee was breathing on his left side and Jiang began breathing on his right, trying to keep out of Hon-kee's sightline, hoping the gambit would work. Hon-kee never tries to win-he's always happy to come in second, that's his problem. Jiang slowed a little more, to give Hon-kee enough time to close in, as he pretended to glance at Mei's legs, wishing he didn't have to, knowing he must, as the crowd roared, cheering the come-from-behind boy swimmer, Hon-kee.

"Look out, Jiang," Mei screamed, "Hon's gaining!" Mei screeched out the ng sound of gaining as if she was the school bell.

"Swim," Feng Xiao screached as he raced to the front of the pond. He wished he could help. He wished he could be in the pond with Jiang, swimming with him, signaling him to swim faster, yanking his arms, pushing his butt, slapping him to make him win.

Coach Luo ran to the finish line. He had never seen Hon-kee swim as hard, Hon-kee was twenty centimeters from Jiang . . . ten . . . one. They were side-by-side and Jiang was failing. Hon-kee was going to win the race!

Hon-kee was still impervious to Jiang's ploy; he heard the crowd scream but guessed they were rooting for Jiang. They always scream for Jiang, but I'll do my best. There's victory coming in second. Hon-kee darted his first furtive look as he dipped his left shoulder into the water, noticing that Wang and Lin-chu were far behind. I guess, it's between me and Jiang. It will be good to finish second. It will be very good! Hon-kee struggled, pulling forward, forward-trying desperately to finish in second place.

Everyone was screaming now, louder, and louder, almost defening at the top of their voices. Good for Jiang! Hon-kee thought. Someday I'd like to be half as good. Hon-kee saw the end of the pool and swam straight ahead. I don't want to lose my position-I don't want the other boys to catch up to me. I want to come in second. I want to beat Wang and Lin-chu.

Hon-kee was only a few meters from the finish line and the noise was now almost ear-spllitting. Hon-kee was going to win the race. It would be the first victory in his life. No one had ever beaten Jiang.

Hon-kee touched the end of the pond's dirt wall and looked around for Wang and Lin-chu. Where are the others? Hon-kee thought, and where's Jiang? To his surprise, Hon-kee saw Jiang coming up behind. Jiang is second. I've won! I've won! Jiang touched the dirt bank and a few moments later, Wang and Lin-chu reached the end, as well.

"What happened?" Coach Luo screamed at Jiang. "You never lose. What happened?"

"I lost my concentration; I don't know. Maybe it was all that talk about girls, I don't know, coach. I guess I just wasn't concentrating."

"You'll learn how to concentrate in the future, boy, or I'll cut you from the team! Is that clear?"

Jiang knew the coach would never do that. He was the best swimmer in Shanxi Province. There's no way the coach will cut me from the team but now he won't cut Hon-kee either. Maybe Hon-kee will be free spirited enough to win a medal someday. Maybe we'll all be free.

The twins rushed up to Hon-kee. "You're wonderful," An squealed.

"How did you beat Jiang?"

"I don't know," Hon-kee kicked his right foot stubbornly into the dirt, the way he had seen his father do when he feigned humility. "I just swam the way I always swim. I guess it was just luck, just dumb stupid luck."

"Luck and these," An shouted, as she grabbed Hon-kee's biceps and squeezed firmly-like a woman squeezing melons. Then she stepped back, amazed at her own forwardness, and stared down at Hon-kee's crotch, wondering if he was aroused, glowing when she noticed the package in his underwear struggling to be free, giggling when she noticed it was creamier than usual, thick than usual, and throbbing lustily as if it was alive. It's moist with his cum, she thought, Hon-kee likes me after all; he really likes me.

An grabbed Hon-kee's hand for support and led her toward the small smelly changing area behind the pond just on the other side of a hill, where no one except swimmers were supposed to go, but where everyone went anyway-some to congratulate the swimmers, others to shake their hands or kiss them or hug them, but all went to marvel at their skill-and of couse there were the girls (and Xiao) who admired what they saw in the boys sopping wet, nearly transparent underwear.

"You can't come here," Hon-kee said.

"I don't intend to come," An whispered in his ear, as she tugged Hon-kee's arm and pressed up against his wet underwear, "but if you see me later, I will come and so will you."

Hon-kee started to walk away, his bulge clearly larger and quite visible now, and An felt moisture dripping down her arms, as her heart pounded and her eyes watered and she felt a little faint. Hon-kee dropped his hands in front of his crotch and backed toward the door and glancing longingly at An, wanting to remember their first romantic moment together, praying she'd be his. "I'll see you later," Hon-kee said as he turned to face her, revealing his tumescence for one more quick moment, before slowly slipping away.

Hon-kee felt like a man now-like a champion-like a guy who could have the pick of the town's hottest, prettiest grils and for the first time in his life, he knew he could whip Jiang!

Mei and An eyed each other in disbelief. "Who would have thought a stud like Jiang could lose in his best event? Perhaps he isn't good husband material after all."

"Even winners lose sometimes," Mei snarled, "it just makes them better . . . besides I don't want to marry a god, I want to marry Jiang expecially now that he knows failure-he's human now and I can train him the way I want."

"You can have Jiang, I'm taking Hon-kee. I don't think I've seen him with a girl before. He's mine."

"I told you none of the boys hang out with girls. They spend all their lives with boys. It's like they're in a big happy boys' club. Sometimes I wonder if they like girls at all."

"All boys like girls! Don't worry about that. I'll marry Hon-kee and you'll marry Jiang; let's plan a double wedding. Would you like that? Daddy and Mommy can marry us both off at the same time."

"Soon, I hope, we are turning fourteen next monthm after all-prime age isn't it to bear children of our own."

"I hope they're all girls!"

The girls held hands as they left-more for physical support than as a sign of their friendship. They felt as if they'd fall down unless they were firmly anchored somewhere, even if that had to be in the hands of her twin.

When Hon-kee the rest of the villagers left, the other boys crowded around him, praising him for his victory.

"You were excellent," Jiang said as he held out his hand. "Congratulations on your first victory."

Hon-kee took the compliment the wrong way. "What do you mean, 'my first victory'? I've won lots of races before."

Everyone looked at Jiang, who had always been the leader.

"He's right," Wang said, "don't be rude. Hon-kee won on his own and he's won dozens of races before." Wang knew it wasn't true, but he wanted it to be-Jiang was just too good and needed to be put down-if only for today, he needed to learn his place among the boys. "From here on, we're all going to beat you and now that we see how easy it is for you to lose, you may never win again."

"I bet my granny can whip your ass," Wang laughed. "I bet she can swim three times faster than you." Once Jiang had been the envy of every boy in the village, but now Wang gloated as he stared, glassy-eyed at the fallen boy-God. To him, Jiang had always presented himself as an athlete, but today he swam like a worthless girl. Perhaps Jiang's body was failing or his mind had wandered. Wang studied Jiang's body for the first time, wondering how a boy such as Jiang could have been such a hero for so long. True, Jiang had a solid waist-board stomach, smooth muscular legs, large biceps and strong shoulders, but with his loss, everything had changed. Now Jiang had been defeated, and the boys were living in a world where anyone could be a champion.

Jiang smiled inwardly. He knew why he had thrown the race, but he knew he'd never tell. He wanted his teammates to compete fearlessly and the stronger they were, the stronger they all would be; the stronger the team, the better the chance they could all go to the national swimming finals that he'd heard about. Jiang wanted to win there, but even if he didn't win, even if his team never went to Beijing, Jiang was pleased that he'd let his closest friend win the race. From now on, Hon-kee will be more confident; that's the most important thing, and even if no one likes me any more that doesn't matter, I've helped Hon-kee become a man.

Xiao hung around the pond waiting for the boys. I wish I be with them, but I must be careful. Xiao's penis grew as he thought about Jiang. One day soon, Jiang will be mine.

Jiang came out from the other side of the hill last and crashed into Xiao. "Oh, pardon me," Jiang said, looking around to see if anyone had seen them so close together. "We have to be careful when we meet here," Jiang whispered. "The coach already spoke to me. He wants to fix me up with a girl."

"Do you think you could do it with a girl?"

"I don't know, but I'm sure the coach will ask for a full report," Jiang forced a laugh.

"Then just tell him the good things; tell him what you liked about her."

"He won't ask me."

It took a moment for Xiao to realize the seriousness of Jiang's reply. "You mean he'll ask the girl?"

Jiang nodded, too embarrassed to speak.

"Can you do it or not?" Xiao whispered frantically.

"Do I have a choice? It's something we all must do sooner or later, isn't it?" Jiang's voice had an edge to it and he hung his head down, noticing that his long toes extended beyond his big toes. He took a moment longer and realized that Xiao's long toes were much shorter.

"Even me?"

"Especially you, if you don't, you know what will happen."

Xiao saw the coach heading their way. "Thank you for your help with the assignment, Wu Jiang. Perhaps I can help you with your math homework sometime, goodbye."

"Why do you hang around with Xiao?" Hon-kee quizzed, "We're your friends . . . even though you are such a big loser." Hon-kee thumped Jiang on the back hard enough to shake his teeth as the other boys laughed and, within half a heartbeat, Jiang joined them, laughing gustily. Since the boys had grown up together, they shared everything and held grudges for about twenty seconds before burying them . . . Besides, they had trees to climb and girls to hate, but things were changing now and Jiang knew that he was the cause. He felt proud that he'd let Hon-kee win, but he also felt ashamed. Am I still the same boy I used to be?

Jiang knew he loved Xiao, but he also knew he'd have to date girls if he wanted to protect himself. I'll have to hold her hand and kiss her and . . . Jiang couldn't finish. It was too gruesome to consider. In rebellion, he reversed his thoughts and thought. What if it was abnormal for a boy to kiss a girl? How would they hide their feelings? Jiang felt better now. They're only right because they're the majority, but Chairman Mao started off alone. He was in the minority, but he fought and won. Can I do that too? Can I fight to be free? The question was too difficult for Jiang. If most men married men, how would the minority feel? How would men hide their love for women? How would they keep their desires, their longings, their glances secret? Jiang stole a look to his left, down the path by the melon stand, and saw Hon-kee and An holding hands. He saw An inch forward, lips moving toward lips. Suppose they were in the minority, and they were caught making love. Would they go to jail? Would they be tortured? I wish they could live like me. I wish they could learn what it's like to live in hiding- for a month, a week, a day, an hour-hiding their love, crying themselves to sleep, wondering why it was wrong to love. Jiang's mind drifted back to reality. He sighed, wondering if his love for Xiao would ever dissipate. The coach is right. People marry. They have babies. Xiao and I are the abnormal ones, the perverts; no one could ever understand our love. We must fight our inner nature and learn to be something we were never meant to be. We must learn to-Jiang couldn't think of the word; he was angry now and he didn't know how or what to tell Xiao. Jiang gritted his teeth as if he were reciting his oen birthday resolutions. I must learn to like pussy. I must learn to sleep with a female. I must make a baby. I must spend my life with someone I can never love. I must live against my nature. I must pretend to be what I am not. Jiang hand stroked his thigh as he walked. He wondered if a woman would ever do that; he wondered if she would even care about his needs, his feelings. And on top of all that, I'll have to ruin a girl's life. The onus of his discovery innunadated his soul as Jiang wondered about women. What's it even like down there? Can I stand the smell? Can I look at a naked girl without vomiting? Will my dick stay hard? Jiang wanted to open his mouth and yell as far as the Great Wall. What can I do to be normal like Wang and Hon-kee? What the fuck can I do?

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Xiao had that horrible dream again. The mole on his shoulder vibrated until it became a large butterfly and then fluttered away. In his dream, Xiao was naked in the forest, lying on his stomach, and there was something heavy that was banging him, pushing him, hurting him. He felt claws digging into his flesh, he smelled animal musk, he heard the growls. There was a bear on his back, there was a bear fucking him-shoving his big bear cock in and out of his tiny tight little ass. Xiao struggled to shake the bear off, but the more he tried, the harder the bear filled him. Xiao didn't want to be passive; he wanted to fight, to claw back, to scream out in terror, but he was paralyzed and could do nothing more than grunt like a female bear. The giant bear fucked him deeper, pounding his great hard bear cock deep inside Xiao's ass, hurting him until he bled. The animal on his back ripped him with his claws; it pressed Xiao's head firmly down into the moist earth, it kicked Xiao's legs wider and wider and wider apart as it pounded into him-fucking him, pounding him, ripping his body to shreds.

Xiao awoke screaming into the cold uncaring night. XiaoXiao jumped out of bed, while Xiao's parents slept through his nightmare. XiaoXiao hurried over to Xiao, cradling him in her arms, hugging him, holding him.

"What's happened? Why are you upset? What happened?"

"I dreamt I was in the forest and a bear attacked me. It is nothing I'll be okay."

"Go back to sleep then; we all have bad dreams. Everything will be fine." XiaoXiao wanted to cuddle Xiao; she wanted to hold him and rock him in her arthritic arms all night long, but XiaoXiao had held her uncle in her arms when he cried and it did no good. She had failed before . . . she was unwilling to fail again.

Xiao shook for about an hour after his granny went back to sleep. Xiao's sweat filled the room, his stink overpowering his fear. I'll never go anywhere alone again. I'll never go back into the forest alone. I'll always be with somebody even if it has to be a girl. I'll never be alone again! Xiao's birthday resolutions flooded back into his mind-those, too, he had broken.

As Xiao closed his eyes he saw the rear of the man who had raped him. He saw his wide ass, his broad shoulders, his long hair. And for a moment Xiao thought he recognized the man, but then heavy sleep overtook him and Xiao went alone into the eternal world of darkness, back into the black and hideous world of his dreams.

"Watch me tomorrow," Mei said to her sister. "I'm going to kiss Jiang tomorrow. I'm going to make him love me."

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

A little past midnight Coach Luo left Ce-Ce's house. "Tomorrow I'm bringing Jiang. He'll enjoy the experience and if he needs help, I'll show him what to do. I can't afford to have my star athlete straying." Coach Luo whistled as he walked down the long dark pathway to his mother's house. It's been a very good night, Luo thought, it's been a very good night, indeed . . . and tomorrow the pussies will have fun with my little doggy.
