-Bisexual Male
-30-something years old
-Born, raised and still living in North Carolina
-At the freshman picnic, in highschool, a buddy and I shook up bottles of Dr. Pepper and sprayed each other. We also got a little on a certain teacher who promptly gave us a lecture. Thankfully, that's all we got!
-Graduated 72nd out of a class of 200. Woulda been higher but I had some issues and sorta "cruised" my senior year (big mistake!)
-Voted "Most Friendly" in high school. Honest!
-Nominated for Boys state and Governor's school
-Was a peer counselor
-Was a charter memeber of my high school's first Quiz Bowl team
-Joined the newspaper staff my freshman year, worked my way up to editor, senior year
-Member of the Student Council all four years, either representing a club or as a class officer
-Made my Journalism teacher cry in class when I announced I wasn't going to college, she said if there had been some way she could've afforded it, she'd have paid my way. I miss and love you, Sue, wherever you are.

OTHER STUFF ABOUT ME:

-Still have, somewhere packed away, a blanket that my "Maw-Maw" made for me when I was but a wee scribbler.
-Growing up, I wanted to be, either, a fireman, a teacher, an astronaut, or the President...I'm still working on becoming President :-)
-Was molested at age 12, left me f'd up in the head for a long time. Hey, I'm still here and I'm ok, though.
-Likes to crunch up cookies in a glass and pour in some ice cold milk!
-Also, loves to drink sweet tea, that's the OFFICIAL DRINK OF THE SOUTH!
-Formerly all briefs guy, now mostly boxerbriefs, thanks to a certain online friend-wink, wink.
-Likes Rock-N-Roll and prefers it to be loud. Also enjoys, country, southern gospel, bluegrass, oldies, Motown and pop. Rap is ok, once in a while, no hardcore stuff, though.
-Is shorter than most, wears a size 9 shoe.
-No ink and no piercings.
-I have no kids, yet. Maybe someday. In the meantime, I try to spoil my nieces and nephews rotten-hehe
-Am a so-so writer, you be the judge on that one.
-Leans left on most social issues but right on fiscal responsiblity and I'm very big on a strong military. Teddy Roosevelt said it best, "Walk softly and carry a big stick".
-Accepted my bisexuality, after years of struggling against myself, on Sunday, November 30, 2003. I think I'll always remember that date.
-My first car was a 1964 1/2 Red Mustang-SWEET!
-Does a decent Elvis impersonation as well as some other um...strange little voices. :-)
-Loves the Three Stooges, I Love Lucy and M*A*S*H!
-Thinks Paul McCartney is a wonderful songwriter, great performer but has become way too political.
-Nixon WAS a crook.
-OJ DID do it.
-Elvis IS dead.
-I'd rather be a friend than an enemy but don't piss me off.
-Bill Cosby, Jim Carrey and Robin Williams are funny.
-Paris Hilton is too, in a spoiled rich kid, look at me now, kinda way.

I guess that's all for now. I might add more later.

A little more about The Scribbler 10-23-2004

I remember when...

-There was unleaded gas and leaded gas. Leaded was about .48 per gallon and my dad says he remembers when gas was .18 per gallon, back in the 1950's.
-I got my first real paycheck. It was for $101.76. Not bad for a 15 yr. old, eh? That was back in '82.
-I got my first "stereo". It had a turntable and an 8-track tape player. Oh yeah...it was cool. I kept the radio volume on low all night and would go to sleep listening to Z-93 in Winston-Salem. The "Flying Dutchman" was the morning DJ. I wonder whatever happened to him. He was funny.
-Summer vacation from school was at least three months long
-Soft drinks came in glass bottles and the cost was 20 cents
-You could get a nickel apiece for those bottles at the convenience store or supermarket.
-Bubble gum was a penny - "Superbubble" was good but "Bazooka Joe" was the best!
-Ford Pintos and Chevy Vegas ruled the roads
-In the first grade, my teacher's name was Bette Davis (like the actress) and I thought she was the most beautiful woman in the world (my teacher-not the actress).
-I went to see my first "real" movie, with one of my older cousins in the summer of 1976. It was King Kong.

That's all for now...
