What he ends up with is a big, loving family. The various books take you through the highs and lows of their life, but is filled with a growing sense of love and affection.
"Do What You Can" by Jason Calme (High School)
Last updated: April 23, 2003 - Chapter 9
NOTE: Jason has been working hard on "All the Ways I Love You" (complete) and "Chasing Matt." (complete) and hasn't had much time to spend on "Do What You Can." I haven't read either of these other stories, but plan to do so soon.
Jed is a typical high school student who suddenly finds himself having to work on a school project with Danny, the only "out" gay guy in school. After two weeks of working on the project, Jed finds himself questioning his own sexuality and actually wanting to go on a date with Danny. As soon as Jed makes this realization, Danny is hit by a drunk driver and dies. At the private family wake, Danny sees another student from his high school. Zack was a little more upset than would be normally expected. In the story that follows, Jason Calme explores the internal struggle of both boys as they find themselves falling in love. Jason has several other stories on the Nifty Archive, but I haven't had a chance to read them ... yet. But, I can guarantee, you'll like this one at lot.

"Gone from Daylight" by Comicality (Sci-Fi/Fantasy)
Last updated: October 11, 2008 - Chapter 12 "Blood Ties"
This story is simply awesome and is perhaps one of the main reasons I decided to write. The story is about Justin. He's a kid having to deal with the hatred of his peers because he's been outted at school. The torment he goes through from his fellow students and from an abusive father and an alcoholic mother leaves him with no hope. Standing at the end of Navy Pier overlooking Lake Michigan, Justin agonizes with continuing with his horrible life or throwing himself into the cold, dark water and ending it all. Justin visits the pier night after night fighting the emotions inside him. A silent figure watches and finally when it looks like a decision has been made, the silent figure steps forward. Taryn offers Justin an alternative ... a different kind of life. Comicality takes his readers on a wild ride through Justin's crossing into the world of vampires. This is one story you absolutely must read.
"In the Fish Bowl" by Dom Luka (High School)
Last Updated: June 18, 2007 - Chapter 20
SEQUEL to Dom Luka's "The Log Way" which is listed on the Suggested Reading Complete page of this website. First of all, congrats to Dom for writing a sequel. I loved "The Log Way"
As with all seguels, it is highly recommended to read the original story first for character background. So check out "The Log Way" first if you haven't read it.
"New Kid in School" by Comicality (High School)
Last updated: July 26, 2008 - Chapter 41
No review as yet, but read it. This story is highly recommended.
"On the Outside" by Comicality (High School)
Last updated: October 15, 2005 - Chapter 10
This was a nightmare, right? Just some horrible nightmare. I'll wake up tomorrow, and I'll be on the playground with my friends, checking out the cheerleaders by the fence, and I'll tell them, "Guess what? I had this weird fucking dream that I was a fag!" And then we'd all laugh out loud and throw rocks at the REAL freaks at school. That's what it is, right? Just a dream? I tried over and over to drive the word 'gay' from my brain, but it wouldn't leave. It stood it's ground, staring me right in the face, and now that it had become a reality, it wasn't ever going away. Not ever. So I did the only thing I could do...I sat there on the floor, leaning up against the couch, stripped down to the socks, alone, and cried my eyes out for what must have been an hour or more. I poured my soul into every tear until I just didn't have any left. Until my throat ached and my cheeks burned. I hated myself so much that I just wanted to die. Right then and there. I'm...I'm...GAY! I can't understand why? I just want to know WHY!!! I can't believe that I was going to be forced to live the rest of my life as a queer. Hated and spit on and teased and beaten up, until the day that I died. No family, no love, no respect, nothing. I've evidently wasted this life already at 14, why don't I just throw myself off the roof and end it now? THAT'S my choice now. 60 or 70 more years of being alone and miserable, or a 10 minute walk to find a building high enough to jump off of. You tell ME which one makes more sense.
It's a story only Comicality could tell ... and with all his stories, you'll be amazed. Comsie is truly a master storyteller.
"Perry and Jesse" by Underthehoodster (High School)
Last updated: July 18, 2005 - Part 5, Chapter 40: "Everything Forever"
This story is basically complete; however, the author is promising us Part 6. So, I'll keep the story in the Ongoing Section of the site. Enjoy!
Underthehoodster has written a story that will demand your attention from the very first chapter. Perry meets Jesse and the rest is history. This story is told from an unusual perspective and you have to be pretty savvy to pick up on it. Consider yourself challenged! Lithe little innocent Jesse isn't what he appears to be. Just as you shouldn't judge a book by its cover, you shouldn't judge Jesse by his outward appearance and mannerisms. To say that Perry falls head over heals is an understatement, but the trials and tribulations these two boys go through is incredible. From being assaulted in the bathroom and being forced to perform sexual favors to cage fights in the middle of nowhere ... Underthehoodster will have you begging for more. Hang on, 'cause it's a hell of a ride!
"Pieces of Destiny" by John Francis (High School) Last updated: September 27, 2008 - Chapter 8
I kinda stumbled on this story and seeing that John Francis wrote it, I gave it a go ... and I sure am glad I did! John Francis ("Groovy Kind of Love,""Jagged Angel") once again proves he is a master storyteller.
When Jason Thomas finally made it out of the cave he was exploring, he wasn't exactly in the same, ah, place he started. That's where Travis Colt makes his appearance. When Jason asks about the MacDonalds that was supposed to be on the corner and was told that, no, the MacDonalds' place is about a mile down the road, Jason begins to question where, or rather, when he is. Turns out it's 1864!
"Storm Front" by Tyrel "Rock" Wolf (Ty) (High School)
Last updated: April 18, 2008 - 5.07c - The Bitter Taste of Being
Tyrel "Rock" Wolf, Ty to his friends, is writing an epic. It's the story of Daniel, who prefers to be called Storm and a boy he meets on a bus. Growing up as a pretty normal boy, Storm finds himself totally swept away by a boy called Lucas. After meeting Lucas on the school bus, Storm faces the reality that, for the first time in his young life, he's attracted to another boy. In a small town called Merlow, you'll meet Dade, Storm's younger brother, along with Mike, Sarah, Marcel and more. Ty tells this story that will have you on an emotional rollercoaster ... laughing your ass off one minute and crying your eyes out the next. Storm Front is one of the first stories I started reading on Nifty and I'm damn glad I did. This is drama at it's best. Check out my interview with Ty.
"Tutoring Jerry" by Desertmac (High School)
Last updated: June 4, 2006 - Chapter 23 "Not Bruce Lee"
I guess it's a lot of people's dreams ... a jock and a nerd. Maybe nerd is too strong of a word. Let's just say a big, hard muscled jock and a normal skinny guy. What are the chances of the two ever hooking up? That's exactly what Desertmac explores in his first ever posting ... and he does a marvelous job.
"Where Are You Now" by austswim@aol.com (High School)
Last Updated December 8, 2005 - Chapter 7
I sent an email to the author ... I think it says it all ...
Man, I just finished reading your story. Awesome! Simply awesome! Please tell me what's up with you and with the story. Are you going to continue it? are you content leaving us hanging? is there any more? or is the "more" left to your readers' imagination? I can't tell you how much I enjoyed your story! The emotion! Jeez ... I really, really liked what you wrote! Damn! I sound like some "luv-struck" fan! LOL!
You've really got a great story ... and no, I wasn't confused with the time changes. Jeez ... you laid it out pretty straight forward. Anyway ... hope you found a job! I have a little website that's been out there for a little over a year and I hope you'll check it out ... 'cause I'm gonna add your story to my list of suggested reading! How can I not?!?!
Your talent for writing is there ... it's obvious that lots of emotion was poured into it! And that's what it takes to write a really great story ... you have to pour your emotion into it. The emotion required to write the story you wrote doesn't come from imagination ... it has to be real ... and I know that real emotion was put into your writing.
Talent like yours is not common ... it needs to be nurtured ... and it needs an outlet. Dude, and I don't even know your name ... you have the talent of expressing your emotion in your story ... don't let it go to waste! I've read hundreds of stories and yours stands head and shoulders above the rest!
Lemme hear from you dude! You have what it takes to be an inspiration. I, for one, am inspired!
